Speaking of "demonstrably false ..."

Honest to God, the effort to rewrite history by various members of the Bush administration has gone beyond ridiculous.

During Sunday's interview on "60 Minutes," President Obama explained why his speech announcing the escalation of troops in Afghanistan didn't include a promise of victory:

I think that one of the mistakes that was made over the last eight years is for us to have a triumphant sense about war.

Former press secretary Dana Perino took exception to that:

I hope President Obama didn’t mean it the way it came across, but when he suggested that President Bush was too triumphant in his rhetoric when talking about war and that President — indicating that President Bush didn’t understand the weight of the decision that is made when you send men and women into war, is demonstrably false.

Uh huh. Even if we leave aside bullhorns, piles of rubble, wanted dead or alive, and bring it on, did she forget about this?
